Hello, my name is Dr. Daniel Roney. The following is a brief biography to help you better understand my qualifications. As you will see, I have continued my learning process since starting in higher education over 20 years ago. I personally feel this is an absolute necessity in today’s ever changing healthcare world. This is also why I can help you, when most others cannot.
The United States, statistically, is one of the unhealthiest nations on the planet. We also lead the world in chronic pain. It is estimated that 60-70 million Americans have one or more chronic pain/problems. This figure, according to the World Health Organization, is 2-3 times more than the next leading country. There is a term used for people who have these chronic problems called “Vertically Ill.” This means they are not sick enough to be horizontal, or lying down, but they are literally walking around feeling poorly at best. There are reasons for this and solutions which I can provide. My background is my biggest asset and your best chance of regaining your health.
I attended the University of South Carolina on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Sports Medicine in 1993. I also worked as a student athletic trainer, rehabbing injuries to many high level athletes. Upon graduation, I went on to work at several of the top rehab facilities on the East Coast, assisting in the rehabilitation of a variety of health conditions. In 2000, I graduated with high honors, from the four-year program at Life University School of Chiropractic. I am currently working towards a diplomate in Functional Nutrition and have studied extensively in the fields of Functional neurology, Functional Endocrinology, and Blood Chemistry. Please play the introductory video on the home page to fully understand and appreciate how this comprehensive background helps our clinic achieve outstanding results for many of our patients.
I feel one of the advantages I have is that anything I advise my patients to do, I actually do or have done myself. I am very disciplined when it comes to my own health. There is a reason. My motivation came from my father. In 1998, my father was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He was only 53 years old. Although one of the best fathers and people I have ever met, his approach to health was not very good. He and I had a conversation about a month prior to his death that changed my perspective for myself and the way I would treat my patients. With tears running down his face, he told me he wished he would have taken better care of himself. He said the regret was worse than any pain he has ever felt. I work as hard as I do for myself, and for my patients especially, so there is no regret! Do everything you can to give yourself the best chance to live a happy, healthy, more quality-filled life. Life is too short, and there are too many things to live for. My constant schooling and passion for getting you better is a direct result of my father’s death. I have a PURPOSE that is stronger than most doctor’s. This purpose is my motivation to help others get healthy!
I work diligently every day to learn the newest and latest research on these chronic conditions. I am extremely passionate about helping patients regain their health from a variety of conditions, that simply aren’t being diagnosed and/or treated properly. The one thing I promise all of my patients… I will work harder for you than anyone ever has, to help you regain your health, vitality, and quality of life. I ask the patients to do the same. In short, I am throwing you the life preserver; you have to swim to it. The patients who are willing to do what it takes to swim to the life preserver, often achieve excellent results.
